The making of Clara and Dexter

It was back in 2013, when I commissioned the brilliant children’s illustrator, Kristyna Litten to create the Dragon Fruit and Cloudberry characters for Good Bubble.  For Dexter, we wanted to draw on the “dragon” connotations from the fruit name and keep his colour palette warm and fiery. Whilst for Clara, the brief was more open but we were inspired by the cloudberry’s Nordic origin and felt a fairy-like winged creature, drawing on icy blue tones, would work really well.  We took these different routes to a focus group with young families and there was an overwhelming majority for the characters you see on our bottles today. With a couple of tweaks, Clara and Dexter were born.
